Samurai Sam and Ben the Tiger in 'The Angry Mountain'!
Illustrated and written by S.B. Dow

Front cover of the book

Montage of story

Ben feels the two travelers are being watched as they walk through the forest.

Sam witnesses something strange as he attempts to touch the leaves – the leaves move away from his hand.

Suddenly a voice starts yelling at Sam and Ben to get off its head – it’s crab grass, so it is always angry

The grass complains that everyone always walks on their heads, and never apologizes.

The trail doesn’t mind being walked on as it uses rocks a helmets to protect itself.

“Look out! Look out!” cried the river, “Don’t cross on the rocks because they will cause you to slip off!”

” That’s not true!” cried the rocks pretending to be hurt.

“ We’re very friendly!” purred the rocks as they came closer to the river bank. “Walk across on us, we’ll take care of you!”

Instead, the two friends, thanks to the warning of the river decided to climb the mountain to get a look at the entire island. Ben was feeling hot. “Sure you’re hot,” laughed the flowers behind him. “That’s because you’re standing next to us! We’re Sunflowers!”

It was a very tough climb. The mountain made it so because it did not want the two friends to climb it.

The mountain sent boulders down to try and bowl over the two friends.

Sam tried talking to the rocks, but they would not listen and tried very hard to keep the two friends from crossing the mountain.

With the help of many friends who did not like the way mountain treated everyone, Sam and Ben made it over the mountain.

They curled up under a friendly tree who promised to protect them and fell into a deep sleep
