Once there was a girl named Gail who stepped upon her bathroom scale.

To her surprise she did not see, what she thought there ought to be.

Down she stepped then on again, then saw a fish with golden fins.

“ A fish, a fish, a fish!” said Gail, “There’s a fish inside my bathroom scale!” .

She peered inside for a closer look, and then she saw a fisherman’s hook!

“Look out! Look out!” said Gail to the fish, “or you will be cooked and served on a dish!”

It darted left, it darted right, then it dashed right out of sight!

“ When it was safe, the fish came back. The fish came back to sit and chat

“ Since you have saved me,” said the fish “I shall grant you a single wish.”

“Are you a magic fish?!” asked Gail. “Yes,” said the fish from inside the scale.

Gail thought and thought and thought awhile, then she said to the fish with a smile,

“ I wish that you could stay,” said Gail, “A while inside my bathroom scale!”.

It stayed and played and swam awhile, then it said to Gail with a smile,

“ I now must leave your bathroom scale.” And as he left he waved to Gail..

Once there was a boy named Al, who one day stepped upon his scale.

“ A fish, a fish, a fish!” said Al, “there’s a fish inside my bathroom scale!”
